Detail

The Carnivore is a unique experience.
A great way to celebrate a couple of milestones.
Thank you for putting it all together for us. This open-air meat specialty restaurant has become a standard stop on the safari trail.
Every type of meat imaginable, including four choices of wild game, is roasted on traditional Masai swords (skewers) over a huge, visually spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.

Normally waiters welcome you for starters with a delicious hot soup, and then carry the meat swords around the restaurant, carving unlimited amounts of the prime meats onto sizzling, cast iron plates in front of you.
A wide selection of salads, vegetable side dishes, and a variety of exotic sauces accompany the meat feast. After this meal, dessert and coffee follow. The famous Carnivore Dawa cocktail was introduced to Kenya at the Carnivore. Dawa in Swahili means medicine or a health revival potion. The Carnivore “Dawa” is the drink chosen to hydrate, refresh and sharpen the taste buds.

The variety of meats served include:- Whole joints of meat – legs of lamb and pork, haunches of venison, rumps of beef, sirloin steaks of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, and skewered kidneys, turkey and much more. Crocodile / Camel – The meats are constantly basted and turned until perfectly cooked; the meat is succulent and well flavored.

Vegetables and Salads: – wide selection of salads, vegetable side dishes accompanies the meat dishes. The restaurant also offers vegetarian dishes.

FAQs

How do I/we book our chosen safari through your company?

Please complete our Online Enquiry Form at the bottom of this page or simply send us an email at info@hanseltravel.com.

How do I pay, when and how much deposit?

We require 30% deposit to confirm a booking, sent by wire transfer to our bank account, and balance is payable at least 14 days prior to commencement of the safari. See our term & conditions for further information.

How far in advance should I book my safari?

It is better to book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability at the time you wish to travel, especially during the high/peak seasons – June to Oct and Christmas/New Year season.

What type of vehicles do you use on safari?

We use 7-seater custom safari minibuses with pop-up roof ideal for game viewing and sight seeing. The buses are fitted with HF long range radios for easy communication and are well maintained to provide maximum level of comfort and safety. In addition to the above, all our vehicles are fully equipped with cool-boxes and first aid kits. All our safari drivers are trained tour guides, friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and are committed to ensuring clients’ satisfaction. Past clients testimonials confirm this.

How many people do you take on a safari?

Most of our safaris operate on private basis with a minimum of two persons booking, and we recommend not more than 6 persons for maximum comfort and guaranteed window seats.

Are we guaranteed to see the ‘Big Five’?

We cannot guarantee this, as all of the animals are in their natural environment. However, with our well though-out itineraries and chosen locations you will not be disappointed.
